34 Weeks Bump Date!
6 weeks left until our world is changed forever….. 6 weeks left to sleep through the night…6 weeks left to go out whenever we please…. 6 weeks left of just Todd and I. It is pretty crazy how fast 9 months can go- it feels like yesterday my breath was taken away when I found out I had life growing inside of me.
Thought I would go through and answer some common questions we get at this point in pregnancy 🙂
Does the baby move often?
Absolutely!! Before, it used to be tiny kicks that felt like a twitch in my stomach. Now, it feels like she is rolling around and I can watch her movements because she moves my whole belly 🙂
What are the biggest changes you’ve noticed in your body as you get further along?
Well…. my boobs have been the biggest change… (pun intended). This has been the best part of pregnancy for me 🙂 My hips are getting wider and making way for the baby. I definitely have the pregnancy waddle down and bending over takes a lot of effort, its more of a squat ha. What has been amazing is seeing my body change in a way that seems “negative” to our superficial society- but actually – its the most miraculous thing to be apart of. Birth is truly a miracle- my body changing and knowing exactly what to do is an incredible experience I wouldn’t change for the world.
Is it true that your appetite increases?!
Yes and no…. honestly- at meals I eat less at this point. My stomach is compressed due to making room for the baby- so I get full so much faster! BUT with that being said- I totally snack throughout the day. So its more of a snack schedule then a meal schedule at this point.
Any crazy cravings?!
The first trimester I LOVED gold fish, cheetos, pickles, and anything with no substance. However, after that trimester was over my tastebuds seemed to return. I understand it is different for everyone so I was lucky with the short amount of time I wasn’t feeling myself.
Are you still working out?
YES! This has been my saving grace. Down here in Florida – it gets so humid and my body retains much more fluid when I am pregnant. Therefore, after I am able to workout and get rid of some of that fluid, I feel like a new person! I am still using crossfit for my method of training. The coaches have scaled what I need to and I ultimately listen to my body and what I am comfortable with during the work out. Crossfit has been an amazing community of people to go through this journey with- and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Are you still traveling for work?
Yes. I have limited my travel after I entered into the 3rd trimester- but I do have a trip for work this week. We are also flying to PA in a couple weeks for Todd’s family reunion. I wouldn’t say it’s the most comfortable ideal way to travel- but it hasn’t been miserable yet. Just being prepared with having water and snacks at all times – I was good to go.
Do you cry easier or have any breakdowns due to hormones?
Honestly- last week I had the weirdest breakdown. I still don’t know why or what it was about, but Todd was incredible and hugged me for a while and then it was over. SUPER strange- but it was so sweet seeing that side of Todd. I honestly am more prone to crying when I laugh right now. Like we were watching a TV show- and something was just so funny to me I laughed so hard I cried? It was SO WEIRD Todd just was cracking up at me. hahhaha such a weird moment.
Do people give you unsolicited advice?
ALL OF THE STINKING TIME. I was in TJMaxx the other day – ON THE PHONE- talking with my mom and a lady interrupts me and asks if its a boy or a girl. I told her it was a girl with a big smile and continued shopping. She then proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong and it was a boy…. I told her we have been checked TWICE and they said both times it was a girl. Then she had me turn sideways and examined my but to belly ratio and gave further comments. She then ended with the comment “well whatever it is- congratulations and good luck!”????? WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT who does this. lol I was laughing so hard I had to leave the store and tell my mom what had just happened.
This journey has been incredible and the best thing I believe I did for myself was setting no expectations. Every pregnancy is going to look different for everyone. However, don’t use pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy and slack off – within reason- try to stay in your routine! Take every day and trimester as it comes and God absolutely gives you the strength.
