Guys… Kori knows what she’s talking about!!! I just had my first baby this fall (big boy weighing over 9 pounds I may add) and, needless to say, he took a toll on my body! The majority of my postpartum results in 12 weeks are purely from a diet change. I’ve lost 17 pounds while eating more. I was actually eating what everyone would consider “healthy,” but the balance of carbs vs. fat vs. protein was off. When I got married, I was at my lowest weight and doing a very low carb/high fat diet, so in my mind, that was the only way to lose weight and stay lean. But that wasn’t sustainable or healthy long-term. By eating the right balance of macronutrients, my body is being restored and my metabolism is the highest it’s been since high school! I have never felt like this is a “diet”… it’s simply a way of life for me now to get to my optimal physique! Tracking macros and following Kori’s program has actually been extremely freeing in all areas of my life since I don’t feel restricted to a certain meal plan. I also did a shortened version of Kori’s at home workout program (~20 minutes per day) just to keep me on track and, now that my body is almost done healing from a c-section, I’m ready to kick-start weightlifting again!
